iMersion3D is a content creator and in the business of converting 2D Content for the no glasses 3D Digital Signage Market.

Digital signage is a common sight today in a wide range of locations, including retail stores and other public places. Units can now be equipped with a camera that can instantly determine how far away viewers are from the screen, along with information about them such as their gender and age bracket, so that the best match of advertising material can be selected and displayed to them on the spot.

The viewer information obtained by the unit (date and time, gender, and age bracket) can also be sent to a control center to provide marketing data that is useful in areas such as product development and deciding on future approaches to advertising.

The use of 3D in digital signage content can convey information to the viewer in a way that leaves a stronger impression than 2D content does. The length of time that people stop to watch advertisements also increases significantly. This further improves ad recognition, leading to greater customer drawing power and higher sales.

What we do

NNATIVE 3D:  iMersion3D can provide Stereo 3D crews, Equipment Packages, Budgeting, On-set Stereo3D design /supervision, and Stereo 3D Post-Production work flows.

CCONVERSION 2D to Stereo 3D:  The iMersion3d process utilizes proprietary and shifting algorithms to quickly ascertain how the  converted Stereo3D images will look and whether sequences need a more labor intensive traditional approach for segmenting, roto, in-painting and clean plates. The algorithms minimize the need for this labor intensive work. This process can be augmented by ‘selective rotoscoping‘ to maximize the Stereo3D depth and includes a key-frame roto process handling ‘selective roto’ in all but the most radical shots.

While these procedures have been developed on various platforms they are platform and software agnostic.  Nuke, AE, Shake and other software on appropriate platforms have been used to develop a stand-alone solution for cost effective 3D stereo conversion. It has the additional benefit of being comfortable to watch, provides a more natural illusion of depth, and is an extremely fast process to get a first look suitable for editing and “fast track” previewing.

NNO GLASSES 3D:  iMersion3D has developed proprietary technology for no glasses 3D Displays.  Digital signage is seen everywhere: –  shopping malls, sports arenas, movie theaters, other public places.   • Rory Hinnen
    20 plus years working for Dreamworks, sony imageworks, excelling in lighting and compositing and most importantly spending 3 years with Chuck developing a core set of algorithms utilized in iMersion3D.
  • Jack Bowman
    30 years working on cutting edge visual effects software packages and video codec’s for the film and TV market. Well versed in C++ and other programing languages.

    25 plus years visual effects supervision including 10 years Stereo3D design and on-set supervision, some 3 years working with Rory on 3d conversion techniques
  • Bruce Austin
    30 years on-set cinematography, some 10 years of that shooting Stereo 3D tasked by Panasonic and Sony as a beta tester for their evolving S3D camera packages. He is also a well qualified software tech responsible for many developments and 3D conversion algorithms.
